I have a specimen of magnetite I acquired about four years ago that is labeled as being from this location. I have been going through my collection entering full locality names and noticed that magnetite is not listed as this location. Is anyone familiar with this location? Is it true that magnetite is not found here? I do not have a picture at the moment, but could probably get one if necessary (the specimen is not at my current residence). Thanks!

Mike, if your magnetite is crusts of cm-size octahedrons, with smaller feldspar crystals at the base, on a volcanic rock (dacite), then it's from Cerro Huañaquino, not Tazna. Compare the photos there.

A quick internet search shows other magnetite specimens labeled as Tasna (Tazna) Mine.
