LocalitiesPrice Chopper Occurrence, Town of Bancroft, Hastings County, Ontario, Canada

I was searching google and some youtube videos popped up. One came up for an "Ireland occurrence" I hadn't heard of this before. Apparently it's what they call the price chopper occurrence. It seems like a better name since I think the grocery store is now Foodland.

The video has the newer Bancroft CoC guide as reference.

Not sure how wording is preferred, so I'll let someone else change it as they see fit.

I think I've seen that name in my guide book too, but I kinda remember that it has something to to do with Price Chopper Occurrence which I've heard of in the past. I've never been there, but it sounds a bit interesting. Just curious, why are you looking up Canadian locations?

Price Chopper takes precedence. One does not change the name of an occurrence everytime it changes ownership.

I would agree with Reiner.

Here is the why the odd name history. The area behind what is now a Food basics (formerly price chopper) was going to be developed as a small sub division. Ireland (which is why some call it the Ireland property) was the property developer name I believe. They started moving earth and breaking rock but area was never developed (not a lot of population growth in Bancroft). The broken rock outcrops behind the food basics are the occurrence. I am not even sure who owns the actual land where the occurrence is located. it is easy find the area and the mindat locality description is correct.
