Hello to the Australian specialists!

The label on this specimen states simply "Hamilton, Victoria"

If anyone has more precise locality information, I'd appreciate your input.

G,day Maggie
The correct location is Wannon Falls, it is about 12 km from Hamiltion.
Probably Australias best known vivianite local. ....Greg

Hi Maggie

While I'm in Oz, just not from Victoria, I believe that this is from the Wannon Falls on the Wannon River approximately 7km west of Hamilton, Southern Grampians Shire, Victoria.

i.e.: Wannon Falls, Hamilton, Southern Grampians Shire, Victoria

The site is located in a protected State park area and collectiing is no longer permitted.

A very good reference for this is:

Phosphate Minerals of Victoria-Special publication No.3, WD Birch and DA Henry, Mineralogical Society of VIctoria, 1993

Hope that helps
