PhotosCalcite - Ladywash Mine, Eyam, Derbyshire, England, UK

I have a feeling this calcite specimen - very good though it is - would be more at home in a West Cumbrian locality,

I have a few calcites I collected at Ladywash but they are all dogtooth, nothing like what you have pictured.

Probably West Cumbria.

Have a few specimens from Ladywash, and have collected underground there. Have never seen a calcite remotely like this

On the other hand I've seen hundreds like it from west Cumbria

My gut reaction would be from somewhere in Cumbria. I have an old Joseph Neeld calcite from Eyam, of a similar habit on fluorite & sphalerite typical of the area. Nowhere near as lustrous or clear as the specimen in the photograph. It would be useful to see what the back of the specimen looks like.
