Does anyone happen to know if this quality of Sodalite could be found at the 'Rock Farm', or is special permission needed to access the main site itself?

Hi Matt,

I wanted to respond earlier, but waited to see if anyone local could answer your question. Your best bet is to contact the operator directly. I last visited the rock shop there a year ago but didn't check out the material in the "Rock Farm". I had the opportunity to collect in the mine in the 60's and early 70's when material of the quality in the Mindat photo gallery was quite common. As far as I noted last year, officially, there was no public access allowed into the mine. Perhaps there are others who could respond with more up to date information for you on the Rock Farm material.

Cheers,

Holger

Hello Matt:

You can find Andy Christie`s email address if you visit his website: www.princesssodalitemine.ca

He can answer your questions about the mine and the `rock farm`.

Mark,

Thanks for providing that information.

Cheers,

Holger

Thanks for the responses. I value building a collection of almost exclusively self-collected minerals, so I was hoping to visit one day soon and attempt some hard hammering in the 'rock farm' area. I will try Mr.Christie and get a bit more details.

Matt
