Halite?

I only ask, as it does taste salty, but are there any other minerals that taste salty? It is hard to see any cubic formations on these crystals, but they all feel and taste like salt...(Location unknown - someone gave them to me in a paper bag with some other stuff!)

If it tastes like salt it is salt. Other water soluble minerals have a different taste. Besides I can see a cubic cleavage in it.
