I'm trying to identity this mineral specimen, so I'm hoping someone here can help. Obviously, there's a tall quartz crystal, but what is the black and white matrix material that it is connected to? My best guess was sphalerite and albite or something like that. Also, the only locale info I have is that it's from Brazil. Any ideas where specifically it might be from?

Thanks,

-Brian

Hi!

I think the black ones are biotite mica, the white material is some sort of feldspar.

Mica or a mineral of the chlorite-group.

Thanks! Now that you say mica, I can totally see that.
