What is the palisaded white mineral on which this massive datolite sits? It is not brittle like laumontite, and it's harder than calcite.

Hu Everett:

It comes from a brecciated zone of calcite and datolite. Sometimes there are also what look like quartz-quartzite veins that vug up, and sport these layers.
