It mineral are forgotten in the list of mindat minerals:
CHUKANOVITE- Dronino, Kasimov, Ryazan Oblast, Russia
This NEW SPECIES occurs in kamacite cavities as acicular to
fibrous masses forming brownish to greenish brown spherules of
radially fibrous aggregates, similar in morphology (but not
color) to malachite. This is author's studied material from the
relatively new Dronino ataxite meteorite that fell in prehistoric
times but was not discovered until 2000, subsequently described
in 2004. Formula: Fe2(CO3)(OH)2, the iron analog of malachite,
IMA #2005-039, named in honor of Russian physicist and
mineralogist Nikita Vladimirovich Chukanov (B. 1953). A very rare
species likely formed as an alteration product (under the bizarre
reducing conditions) of native iron with cold CO2-bearing
subsurface water. Only a few samples on hand, sizes from about
8mm to 1.9cm
