Stewart Mine Tourmaline

Hello

I was searching the highest priced minerals on Ebay tonight and found a Stewart Mine, Pink Tourmaline Cluster for sale - The price seems outrageously high for what it is - Anyone know what would be a TRUELY fair offer for this Stewart Pink Tourmaline Cluster on e bay ? Thanks

A specimen is worth only what someone is willing to pay for it, and one would assume that a specimen offered for sale at a quoted price is worth that price to the owner. If it is something you are interested in, then you have to decide if it is worth that to you. If you think the price is outrageously high, will it change it's value to you if I say that I don't think so?

Minerals are "one of a kind" items and as such, it is very difficult to set a standard market value for them. If you want it but would like to pay less, make the seller an offer.

I'd would be cautious of a tourmaline on ebay claimed to be from the Stewart Mine. It could very well be an Afghani tourmaline that is labeled as Stewart to take advantage of the higher value of specimens from this latter locality. I've seen this done on more than one occasion with pieces labeled as being from the Himalaya Mine.
