Power Point Presentations Online

Hi Everyone,

I was fascinated the other day when cruising the net. I ended up at the Mineralogical Record website and tapped the link for Videos ( [www.minrec.org] ). There in all its glory sat "Gypsum Crystal Caverns, Naica, Mexico" as a PowerPoint presentation just waiting for me to click and enjoy. I did, and the fun magically started rolling over my monitor.

Now, I know for most of us, that this is not a new find, mineralogically that is, still, as a format to enjoy this deposits riches, I never knew online presentations of this sort existed... My question, are there other sites out there where other presentations of this sort can be enjoyed?

Thanks for taking the time, all the very best,

John

PS Another terrific presentation I found online was offered at the Rocks & Minerals magazine website ( [www.rocksandminerals.org] ). This link takes one to a page offering a terrific film of collecting Herkimer diamond quartz crystals titled, A 2007 Collecting Venture in Herkimer CO., NY... Fun stuff!

As a last thought... YouTube ( [www.youtube.com] ) also offers a small selection of mineral and fossil collecting videos.

I've always been a bit wary of downloading Powerpoint files from the internet (they can be a source of viruses). In fact, I don't even have Powerpoint on my PC, but I'm sure they can be opened with other software that I have.

Videos! Did someone say VIDEOS???

OMG, who would have thought of that!

I heart mineral videos! Someone should make more of them!

Hey, is anyone here an amature video editor? I sure could use some help!

Hi Everyone,

Thank you, those who took the time to respond, I sure appreciate it.

And Frank, thank you for sending your video link, I checked your movies out and enjoyed the Anna Mine presentations the best.

The-Vug has some of the best movies online and I hope folks will consider checking their site out. I know there are sites out there with this type of fun media presentations, it's just a matter of finding them!

Thanks again everyone, take care,

John
