Etched some silver. Please tell me what you think about it. What kind of silver? Should it be dipped? Etc. One is with camera flash one is without. :)

If it's the same person that was in the chatroom a couple nights ago, it is from the Cobalt area Reiner.
If not, then haven't a clue...

If it is from Cobalt it looks like botryoidal Co/Ni arsenides which may or may not have some silver in or on it.

Hi,
I am planning my first trip to Cobalt Ont and hope to find some bits of silver with my metal detector. Any ideas as to which mine site or tailings piles I should visit ? I would really appreciate your help. Anyone want to join on the trip?

Hi Peter (and anyone else who would like to go to Cobalt)

The K-W Mineral Club is planning a trip to Cobalt in October - if you join the club (for a nominal fee) you could be part of the trip - Reiner and I are going to be guiding the group.

Alternately, take a look at this article that Michael Adamowicz wrote for Mindat - [www.mindat.org]

Hope this helps
Maggie
