Hi Steve,
Very tricky if not impossible without affecting the sulfur crystal surface appearance. The solubility of sulphur in solvents that dissolve bitumen is quite appreciable, i.e. sulfur is soluble in acetone, light petroleum, turpentine oil, chloroform, benzene, toluene, ethyl benzene and xylene . It seems least soluble in diethyl ether, i.e. 1:600. If it is just a minor bituminous bloom on the surface of the sulphur crystals, and you were brave, a quick and gentle wipe on one not obvious sulphur crystal face with a cotton bud soaked in ether might and I stress MIGHT be of benefit. Remember the flammability and volatility of ether if you try this out....do it outside and no fags in the near proximity.
