Hello all,

would you be so kind and write me what is the most typical attendant mineral (base material) for cronstedtite from Salsigne? I recieved two fine specimens of cronstedtite and I am thinking, that they came from Salsigne.

Thanks for help
Pavel

Dear Uwe
Thanks for the post, it was the first way I tried to do of course :)
But the photographer are locating mostly on cronstedtite crystals without other associated minerals descriptions unfortunately.

Kind regards

Ok; from my general experience cronstedtite always occurs with other iron minerals: pyrite +/- Fe-rich chlorite (chamosite) +/- limonite +/- quartz.

In Salsigne, cronstedtite occurs always (or often) with siderite

Dear Jean-Claude and Uwe,

thanks both for your information. I expected that siderite is typical bottom mineral of cronstedtite from Salsigne. I will podst photos of specimens in a while but I think that I could confirm the locality for this specimen as Salsigne.

Kind regards
Pavel
