Hello everybody,
during my last Mindat.org check I noticed that we could add a feature to the database.
As we are all aware, in the very last months interesting features like paragenesis etc. have been added to the locality details.
Now, the point is that many of us (I'm among the first "Mindat junkies", I guess winking smiley ) use Mindat to check localities, discovered minerals and therefore to put a reasonable name to our specimen's label.
My idea is the following: what about adding the "create label" feature?
I mean, an option that could allow to print directly the label with the locality name and to choose the minerals from the list of the ones already listed in the loc page. If not available, there could be left an empty field to add (by pencil, per instance) the name of the potentially new specie for the loc.

I hope I've been clear enough, people!!

Post your opinion and thanks in advance for it...

Great idea!!!

To build on it, how about an option in your personal gallery section which allows you to to tick a box or multiple select items (or something like that) this can then be used in one hit to download of all your personal specimen details into a spreadsheet/word format which can then be formatted into a standard label style...which could be personalised....I know I could really do with this for my collection currently on mindat!!

Thanks

Tony
