Give us norwegian collectors a little more information on area of interest. There is a lot of localities in Norway, and it's spread over a distance of 2500km, from north-east in Kirkenes to Lindesnes in south...

Gemstones you will probably have to work extremly hard to find, so it also depends on what time you want to use...

Hello Peter!

I am most interested in localities in the eastern part of Norway. Southern could also be by interest.

If you have any tips it would be nice. Thanks.

Do you prefere micros or macro?

Tvedalen are always a place to visit, but you need a person known in the area to be sure to find anything. I might help you if you contact me with closer details about when you are in the area, go to my mindat hompage, and use the contact me function:

Several good localities in the Modum area. All depends what you are looking for, same with Iveland - Evje... Lots of nice localities in Telemark... At least 10000 localities within four hours drive from Oslo... only a fraction of them are in Mindat, but take a look at the regional pages in Mindat (like do a search on "Telemark"winking smiley, click on the minerals of interest, and you might get an idea of what localities that might interest you. Then you make a list of these, send it to me. Then I'll (try to) tell if it's still possible to find anything or if it's accessible...
