Following PM starts as below. I have no particular knowledge nor interest in middle eastern localities, so I believe I'll not be alone in recieving this. "fishing/spam?"

I think this guy is serious. He is certainly enthusiastic and seems planning to post minerals from his collection. His website has serious geology on it, but I think he is involved in commercial stone quarrying. His English is not strong but certainly far superior to my Farsi. Maybe he can contribute some Iranian localities?

I received it also. Iran certainly is interesting. But a PM inviting you to download from unknown sites is not the way to go.

You guys are making me feel unloved and forgotten, because I didn't get it :(

But seriously, we need more contributors from Iran; they'll learn Mindat's brand of internet culture soon enough I imagine.

Just got another from him.
We need to let him know about the message board rather than PM ing everyone.

. . . And of course a hardy welcome aboard (an a minor mention that his watermark plastered over the specimen in the pictures is rather distracting) : )

people in foreign countries have a hard tiem understanding spam. I have spam from someone in peru. every week or so i get an email of minerals from him. this is the only site i visit and potentially post my email on. clearly it came from here. regardless i've replied back in clear spanish i dont want the emails and that it is spam. however inconsiderate he keeps emailing me. As Paul has stated best to delete.
