Traversella is a small village in NW Italy, with a long mining history.
The city inn is called Hotel Miniere and has in its hall a small collection with some classical specimen from the mine, collected by ancient miners during years.
Last week one of the items was stolen. It is an amethyst found in 1959.
The amethyst in Traversella is extremely unusual: it was found only two times in over 400 years of mining.
All the existing specimens are well known, so it is very difficult to sell such an item.
I ask your help to make it impossible to sell also to people who do not know about Traversella amethyst: the value of this specimen is interely in it's origin, because it is only about 10 cm.
So if you are offered a Traversella amethyst today, it is quite sure it is this item. No other specimens are on market today!
Thanks in advance for your help
Fulvio
