Before you ask for a price, you may want to clean it up as much as you can. There are several kinds of prices. On might be what the price would be if the specimen were cleaned well and a fine picture of it taken and then placed for sale on the website of a well know high end dealer. Another price might be for the specimen if it was part of an uncleaned big lot of similar specimens. If the specimen cleans up and is well photographed and offered for sale on a top end dealers website, it might bring as much at $200. If you sell it as part of a large lot of uncleaned similar specimens my guess is that you could get $80 per kg if there were not too many big low quality specimens in the lot. What would I pay for it? You really don't want to know. I am a wholesale dealer and a bit of a cheapskate.

Nauroz without all the fancy hype, and whatever else comes into a simply valuation, I can tell you it's no more than a piece of common Quartz that is coming out of Pakistan by the ton. Top price for a nice one like yours would be $20. I just recently purchased 40kgs for $50us.

It's these so called " high end dealers" selling common mineral specimens at over inflated prices to satisfy there over inflated egos that are causing alot of problems throughout the community. Remember ( they are rocks people, in many cases extremely common ) don't be fooled by hype. We can all drive the prices down by saying no to ourselves in most cases, and taking look around for better value.

What I would pay would depend on how well it might clean up and how much damage was on the specimen. Depending on the locality between $5 and $20. That would be for a single specimen. If it was part of a big lot, probably less than than.

Soap, water, and a toothbrush. Watch the temperature, too hot might cause cracking. More sophisticated cleaning methods are high-pressure water guns, ultrasonic cleaners, oxalic acid to remove iron stains... but start with a toothbrush.

This looks a lot like Zhob material with its typical, and oftenly very beautifull, clay inclusions. Unless there have been a new find there, or this piece is from profuse Kharan, then it would worth more than 20$ I think, as the Zhob find was relatively small and quickly al extracted. If pristine, cleaned & from the original find I'd ask for 50-60US$ or so.
