Emerald Value ?

I was wondering what is a aprox. value for this emerald. It is was listed as gem grade. The size is h-2”, w-3 ½”, d-2 ½”. Weighs 270 grams. I'm a bit of a novice at gems and I hope I did not make a bad auction purchase.

Thanks

Your specimen is peridot, not emerald.

Agree with Steve, and it's not particularly gemmy either.

Sorry Mark, this is not an emerald. Note that gem grade is not the same as facet grade.

If this was sold to you as an emerald, you should ask for a refund.

stephanie

As a peridot specimen, it's on the larger side. As a peridot specimen, it might retail in the $50 to $100 range.
