I am currently attempting to make some rough insurance valuations for my collection. I have some old Mexican and American pieces for which I have no idea of the value and would appreciate it if any one could assist with an opinion. I have had most of these 20-30 years.

These last 2 are probably more locality specimens, one American, one Mexican.

MX_SA01: A pink botryoidal piece from Santa Anita mine, completely detached from matrix. 5-10mm thick and very translucent. Better in person than the photo suggests. Dimensions: 50mm x 40mm x28mm (2" x 1 3/4" x 1 1/8")

US_NM01: turquise green smitsonite on a thin blade of matrix from the Kelly mine. Dimensions: 95mm x 35mm x 18mm (3 3/4" x 1 1/2" x 1/2")

Any assistance much appreciated.

Regards Robbie Neilson

The first one, perhaps $75
The second one probably less than $20
The third piece, the blue Kelly piece perhaps $500

I'd like to piggyback on this Smithsonite thread... what about this Kelly Mine Smithsonite - [www.mindat.org] ?

Perhaps $200?

Less than $100. The balls are, for the most part, incomplete. The specimen has too much limonite. And Kelly Mine material isn't exactly rare.
