It's an obsolete (or misspelt?) name and it's not among the districts listed in
[www.statoids.com]

Does anyone know the correct/present name?

Could it be "Pai-lin district" instead?

Thanks for the suggestion. Pai-lin is also not in the statoids list, but there could in fact be a connection. Will add comment to locality page.

Pailin is actually just over the border in Cambodia according to Google Earth
