For the record, if anyone who likes eye candy, and is in the area of the UBC Museum in Vancouver B.C. on the day of July 8th, there will be a slide talk, titled "Gem and Mineral Treasures from Tucson" highlighting gems and minerals seen over the last 2 shows at Tucson. The talk will probably start at 7:00 p.m. The museum is also trying to mount [in time to coordinate with this talk] a new exhibit in the Vault, called "PRECIOUS, a selection of exciting gem minerals, and mineral gems".
All are welcome to attend, and take in this extravaganza [slight hyperbole].
The speaker will be amateur photographer , gem and mineral collector, Ray Hill.
{please forgive this shameless bit of self promotion} and the exhibit will be a combination of a private collection and that of the museum itself in a first ever gem-mineral focused exhibit.
