You might like the Complete Book of Micromounting by Quintin Wight.

The original Encyclopedia of Minerals (now out of print), by Roberts, Roberts & Rapp had many photos of micro specimens.

Books aren't real good sources for mineral photos these days. You will find a lot more on this website and DVDs like the Photo-Atlas of Minerals 2.0 by Gem and Mineral Council of the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles.

I think that Don has suggested the best starting book for you if you are into micros. Not a lot of mineral pics but explains how to care for your micro collection and it is not expensive.

You could try and find Milton Speckles "The Complete Guide to Micromounts" which is also good on this topic. It is out of print so you will need to track it down on the web or in old book shops.

I would also suggest you subscribe to any of the mineral journals - such as the Min Record - always has some micro pics each issue.

Cheers

These are all great ideas, and to add to them, you might also google Books about microminerals,

which has the added benefit of probably also letting you know where they are for sale, and also, how much they cost...

P.S.

Even though the orginal Encyclopedia of Minerals is out of print, if you haunt used book stores, and/or search engines for used mineral books, it often shows up
