I wrote a report on the articles that have been linked from their main mineral page. [www.mindat.org] When you get to the point where you are satisfied that things are complete, the mineral page should be edited to show the link.

OK, I see, this page automatically displays a summary of the links that are added to the mineral pages, am I right?
In that case forget about what I posted before......I've been adding several links on the mineral pages already, I know how it works.
I just thought that I had to enter them separately in the above mentioned list......now it's clear

Rock,
On the various mindat mineral pages, don't you think that the "Best of Species" link should occur higher up on the page? Right now, a new visitor is just as likely to click on "External Links: >Look for Galena on Wikipedia" as they are to click on the "Best of Species" link.
Perhaps just below the "mindat.org URL:" is appropriate.

Dean,
I suppose it wouldn't hurt to have it higher, but quite honestly at this point I am not anxious to draw all that much more attention to Best Minerals because the project is really more than I can handle even with help from the able moderators that are helping me with the project. In addition I don't know how long the project will remain in its present place on the bulletin board. Quite a while I hope because I think it is the best place for it to solicit attention and help from interested and knowledgeable parties. Eventually the objective is to create a database structure where we can tag the data blocks that we are creating in various ways so that a user can call up and order the information in various ways. Like if they want to see images and get information about amethyst japan law twins from Washington state or green colored pseudomorphs from Yugoslavia. And we have such a long way to go. We have finished first drafts of only about 100 articles, and there is still a huge amount of work to be done on the big minerals like quartz, calcite, barite, gypsum etc etc.just to mention a few.
