As far as I know, fluorite has never been confirmed from the Tri-State District. I doubt that the yellow mineral on this specimen from the Ballard Mine is fluorite:

I think it's probably calcite and the white is a gypsum coating.

I agree completely--love these calcites by the way. No fluorite in the district to my knowledge either.

Sorry for the late response; graduation is near and things are getting very busy. When I got this specimen, I was a little skeptical of the presence of fluorite, but decided to stick with the label's description (oops). However, now that you mention it, it is definitely calcite (small cleavage planes present on backside). I'll change the description now. Thanks for bringing this to my attention.
