You may have noticed I changed the locality of several of my specimens and i assume that is why they are still unapproved. ( one of these, the dt floater i changed back to its original locality- Fortin and Gravelle- I re:photographed it and mistakenly put Laurentide Mine.)
The remaining unapproved are all definitely from Laurentide Mine, which should be mineS because according to Sabina there are "over 20"....I originally listed these specimens as being from Fortin and Gravelle because the pit I found these was within a couple of hundred yards from the "two pits at the crest of the ridge" as Sabina describes it. I assumed this may have been a test pit for the Fortin and Gravellle ... since Sabina describes the Laurentide Mine "90 to 140 meters from the parkway" which is no where near the location of Fortin and Gravelle.
However I have recently discovered many pits stetching all the way up the hill to very near the crest where Fortin and Gravelle is located, including a huge, well hidden, open pit only several hundred yards form Fortin and Gravelle ( I guess that Sabina missed this because it is way beyond the 140 meter mark from the Parkway and is the largest of all the pits). . The small pit I found these unapproved specimens is between that huge pit and the two pits of Fortin and Gravelle, and in fact closer to the huge pit. Hence my revising the locality of these specimens.
thanks
John
