Improving Mindat.org2 separate "Malad Quarries"?
24th Feb 2014 12:09 UTCVik Vanrusselt Expert
I noticed that the Okenite image at the top right of http://www.mindat.org/loc-1992.html is actually attributed to http://www.mindat.org/loc-18220.html
Apparently there are now 2 separate "Malad Quarries" (one of which is also known as the Kandivali Quarry), see: http://www.mindat.org/loc-213720.html
Should they be merged or not?
I think so, because http://www.mindat.org/loc-18220.html says "There are seven quarries near Malad. (...) The quarries are numbered sequentially from #1. The numbering of the quarries is now not very useful because over the course of time, they more or less merged into one another."
Am I to understand that today there is only 1 large "Malad Quarry" left, incorporating both http://www.mindat.org/loc-18220.html and http://www.mindat.org/loc-1992.html?

Malad and Kandivali are villages, in fact part of the Mumbay today. There is at least 4-5 quarries between them. All of them are closed now.
