Improving Mindat.orgDuplicate Locality - and Wrong State

13th Jul 2014 13:33 UTCHarold Moritz 🌟 Expert

This locality: http://www.mindat.org/loc-249628.html

and its only sub-locality: http://www.mindat.org/loc-27852.html

do not exist in Connecticut.

Looking at the references cited, it is actually in Rhode Island and is this locality: http://www.mindat.org/loc-6737.html

I cant fathom how it ended up in Bethel, Conn.! Can someone please delete the two Conn. pages?

Thanks!

Harold

Harold, You entered the sublocality last month and the minerals have the reference: Rocks & Min.: 22: 1024-1026. Is that reference for the Rhode Island locality?

Looking at the edit history, I did not originally post it. When I first saw it I was curious because I never heard of it and there is no Diamond Hill in Bethel Conn. I think I did some minor edits to it before I obtained the reference. The reference is all about the Rhode Island locality, which, once I read it, I have heard of it under a different name, with no mention of Connecticut. If this place were in Bethel, all the rock hounds here would know about it...

OK Both CT localities merged with RI. Please check that all the references, etc. have moved correctly.

Thanks Rob, all set!
