Improving Mindat.orgTwo mistaken pictures from the Poniklá locality

22nd Aug 2015 16:00 UTCJakub Jirásek Expert

Hi,

picture http://www.mindat.org/photo-109273.html shows natrodufrénite, unless proved otherwise by chemical analysis. And picture http://www.mindat.org/photo-599048.html shows aggregates of partly limonitized well crystalized natrodufrénite, rare at the site. I am not quite sure about presence of variscite, since the whitish coating can not be optically distinguished from quartz.

Thanks for fixing.

Jakub

Hi Jakub,

thanks for reporting this.

On the respective locality page, you have marked dufrenite as "erroneously reported".

That's o.k, but would you please add some information in the "Comments:" field as to why, so future uploaders know about the issue.

Otherwise it's just an unfounded claim.

It may be explained in the reference, but a brief summary would help.

Thanks

Amir

Hi,

no progress with http://www.mindat.org/photo-599048.html. Radial one is definitely natrodufrénite.
