Improving Mindat.orgLudwigite

15th Nov 2015 14:37 UTCBruce Osborne

Remove the Ludwigite photo from the Victoria Quarry , Knox Co., Tennessee location. From the information presented from the Rruff database it belongs to the Victoria Quarry in Riverside, California. The specimen I.D. is RO60010. Wayne

Thanks Bruce. The only Victoria Quarry we appear to have is in Tennasee. We don't have one for Crestmore.

Chet, could you please sort out this California locality?

I added the quarry and moved the photo. The Victoria is an alternate name for the New City quarry at Crestmore.

The New City quarry should probably be moved from Crestmore to Riverside.

We now have the same quarry (New City/Victoria) twice, once under Riverside and once under Crestmore. (I collected there many years ago.)

(I wrote too early. You fixed it, David. Thanks.)

Riverside isn't there now. (I merged them and cleared the caches)

Thanks guys.

I'm sorry gentlemen, but New City Quarry is not in Crestmore but within Riverside city proper, about 6 miles SSE of Crestmore Quarries. Please move it back under Riverside.

Best Regards,

MarekC

Hmm... Chet replied, "I took a brief look at this earlier this morning and was going to get back to it with more research. That being said, I just finished exhausting my resources and can not find, nor have I ever heard of, a Victoria Quarry in Riverside County, California."

Sorry Bruce said Riverside and I screwed up with Crestmore.

Reference to Victoria Avenue (New City) quarry

First sentence in article (need to open the "Look Inside" link on page)

I moved the quarry to Riverside. The geology is similar to Crestmore, so the quarry tends to get lumped in with the nearby Crestmore quarries in articles.
