Improving Mindat.orgAroona Mine, Beltana Mine (E.Z. Mine; Beltana deposit; Beltana-Aroona deposit; Puttapa mine)

Hi

Following on from the POTD I think that the locality is bit jumbled:

Currently states:

Aroona Mine, Beltana Mine (E.Z. Mine; Beltana deposit; Beltana-Aroona deposit; Puttapa mine), Puttapa, Leigh Creek, etc

I thought that the Aroona Mine and the Beltana Mine were in fact different.

If they are the same then Beltana needs to be within the brackets. If they are different then Aroona needs to be separated from Beltana.

My understanding was that the Aroona deposit is a few kms (11 NW) of the Beltana Mine/deposit. which in turn is about 10km south of Leigh Creek.

But I am not a South Australian expert.

Cheers

Hi Keith

I'm pretty sure you are correct, they are related but unconnected deposits, but it would be good to see if we can find some informations do references to clarify this; I'm travelling to Tucson at present.
