Improving Mindat.orgPetzite in Dana classification?

5th Nov 2016 20:47 UTCJoshua Chambers

I see Petzite doesn't seem to have a place in Dana's classification system here on Mindat. So I went looking and found on Webmineral to be in the uytenbogaardtite group with fischesserite also. http://webmineral.com/dana/dana.php?class=02&subclass=04&group=03 .

"The Dana classification number used in this database is based on Dana's New Mineralogy, Eighth Edition, by Richard V. Gaines, H. Catherine Skinner, Eugene E. Foord, Brian Mason, and Abraham Rosenzweig, with sections by Vandall T. King,"

I see webmineral uses 8th edition also, but how come the uytenbogaardite group isn't mentioned on mindat?

Thanks

Josh

Those minerals were not included in the index to the 8th edition. Added. Thanks.
