Improving Mindat.orgDavid von B: Chester emery mines

1st Nov 2006 16:08 UTCAlan Plante

Hi David

I've been trying to update the pages for the Chester mines, but I'm having some trouble getting the updated mineral lists to "take". The Old mine list updated okay, but the others don't show the updates. When I hit the "Add Minerals" button, they show up in the list along the left side of the input form - but when I view the locality pages they don't appear.

Also, I screwed up when adding my reference to some of them. I started out writing "Al Plante, Personal field notes..." and then realized that my notes aren't really just field notes. I added to them back home upon doing tests, and in places noted results I got back after sending samples in to U. Mass., Amherst, for high-tech lab analysis. So I started writing "Al Plante, Personal field and lab notes..." which is more accurate. But I can't find any way to edit my earlier reference entries to read the same. Can you do it?

Anyway, hopefully you can get the mineral lists to work right. Those are the main thing.

I'll add some additional notes in the Description fields as I have time.

KOR!

Alan

There are some problems when you try to do a mass update of references on the add/edit mineral locality page. They end up needing approval (which was done - Sackett mine) (this is another little quirk that needs fixing). You might also be getting into problems with the cacheing system (it looks like the changes didn't take - but they actually did). You can do a detail display on the locality page (if those pages haven't been cached) and see what changes have occurred.

Hi David

The lists look okay now. - Thanks!

Were you able to straighten out my so-called "references"? :~}
