Can you help make this a better article? What good localities have we missed? Can you supply pictures of better specimens than those we show here? Can you give us more and better information about the specimens from these localities? Can you supply better geological or historical information on these localities?

Fluorite, Iran

Here will go a good picture of a fluorite from Iran and general remarks about the fluorite from this country. Here are some url's to some of the better Irish Iranian specimens here on Mindat that can be considered for inclusion in the article. These, in most cases are just for temporary use until we can get images of the much better specimens that are almost certainly out there. We should also consider that there are probably localities out there with fine specimens that are not even mentioned on Mindat. Also in some instances there are sometimes pictures on Mindat, of specimens from a locality, but they were so ratty that I did not include them here, but there may also be really good specimens from there that we should talk about in this article.

Mandy has a specimen from Hormuz Salt dome, Hormuz Island, Hormozgan Province, Iran. It is a single octahedral crystal measuring 1.5cm. There is also an unknown black octahedral crystal <1mm perched on one face. Is this specimen worth including?

Jasun, Thats an interesting specimen. If you have not already, why don't you upload it to mindat. I think that when the article gets written on Iranian fluorite that the author would almost certainly want to include it.

HELLO EVERYBODY, I AM IRANIAN AND USED TO COLLECTET MINERALS ( STILL DO) WHEN WAS YOUNGER IN SCHOOL IN IRAN AND THERE DO EXIST SOME EXCITING SPECIEMENS SUCH AS FLUORITE. I STILL HAVE A SMALL FIST SIZE OF ( SORRY I DONT KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT CRYSTAL HABITS AND THIS PIECE LOOKS LIKE IT HAS SURFACE OF RECTANGULAR STEPS ( I AM SORRY I CANT DESCRIBE BETTER BUT SURELY IT IS A VERY COMMON FORM AND WE ALL SEE HUNDREDS OF THEM ).
THIS PIECE IS COLORLESS & CLEAR AND LOOKS AS IF HAS A DASH OF BLUISH PURPLE PEN INK ON TOP OF THE CRYSTAL SURFACES AN ALSO HAS BARITE & MALACHITE INCLUSIONS . IT CAME FROM BARITE MINE AND THE OTHER THING IS THAT BARITE SPECIEMENS FROM THAT MINE LOOKS LIKE MARBLE (SNOW WHITE IN COLOR) WITH RHOMBOHEDRAL CLEAVAGE AND EXACTLY BREAKS LIKE CALCITE, AND ALSO THAT COMPANY MINED A GIGANTIC ( ALMOST A METER ) CHUNK OF LIGHT PINK FLORITE SPECIEMEN . IN IRAN ALSO YOU CAN FIND GREEN ( A COUPLE DIFFERNT SHAPES ), PURPLE GREEN,LIGHT BLUE,YELLO AND DULL GRAY SPECIEMENS BUT I DONT KNOW FROM WHICH MINES. OTHER EXCITING MINERALS ARE CELESTITE. I HAVE NOT SEEN ANYWHERE ELSE CELESTITE LIKE THAT. EVEN NOT AVALABLE FOR PERCHASE IN THE SHOWS!. THEY HAVE YELLOWISH MATRIX WITH CRYSTALS ALMOST LIKE BARITE BLADES, LONG AND THIN TRANSPARENT. TO TRANSLUCENT LIGHT BLUE TO A BIT DARKER , COLORLESS OR CAN BE STAINED YELLOW WITH IRON OXIDE. COULD BE MIXED WITH YELLOWISH WHITE SMALL ( 0.5 CM ) DOGTOOTH CALCITE. COULD HAVE FLAT TIP OR TRIIANGLE TO MULTIPLE TRIANGLES TIPS AND
COULD COME UP TO A METER PIECES . I AM WONDERING WHY NO ONE UPLOAD THE PHOTOS ON MINDAT?. I TOLD MY FRIED TO DO THAT . LET SEE IF IT HAPPENS.
I HOPE YOU ENJOYED THIS.
