Improving Mindat.orgBook "Mineraly Mongolii" (Minerals of Mongolia)

25th Nov 2014 21:29 UTCDavid Parfitt

I came across this book advertised for sale on the Fersman Museum (Moscow) website:

http://www.fmm.ru/reklama/mongolia.htm

I sent an email (in Russian) to the address provided on there for ordering the book, but have received no response. Can anyone suggest another contact at the museum, or perhaps an alternative source for this book?

Many thanks

David

If you can wait I will be at the Fersman museum again probably in April next year and should be able to pick up a copy for you.

Hi Jolyon

My attempts to purchase this book failed as I understand it is out of print and none available at the Fersman.

If you do manage to get a couple I'll gladly purchase from you.

I imagine it is only available in a Russion shop somewhere.

Cheers

Keith have you tried checking Russian web or online bookstores? http://www.ozon.ru/ is one of the sites you can try and see if it is there.

Jolyon,

Just giving this a bump in case you get a chance to pick up a copy of the book "Mineraly Mongolii" when you are at the Fersman Museum in December.

Many thanks again

I'm not sure if the following is helpful (because I don't read Cyrillic), but: see this.

I have only my own exemplar of the book, but can to exchane it on some very good sample. For example for nice massive native bismuth or antimony (from new for my collection locality), may be reasonable large pebble of formanite-(Y) from TL or something other similar. :-)
