Nocerite

Name:After the locality between Nocera and Sarno, Campania, Italy.
Synonym of:Fluoborite

Nocerite was discovered in Campania region (Italy) by A. Scacchi in 1881 in the Fiano Tuff formation (Nocera) in a carbonatic thermally metamorphosed block. The sample was analyzed by Dr. Lederer under Emil Fischer directives, and it was originally thought to be a Mg - Ca Oxychloride. Later Zambonini analyzed again that mineral which resulted in it being identified as an oxyfluoride of Ca and Mg.

Actually “Nocerite” is considered to be Fluoborite.
