System:Monoclinic
Member of:Alluaudite Group
Name:Named by Paul (Paulus) Brian Moore and Jun Ito in 1979 for the relationship to hagendorfite. The name was based on a chemical analysis of a hagendorfite series mineral, but was never formally described. The first member of this series was Maghagendorfite-Na□.
Isostructural with:Hagendorfite-Varulite Series

This root name is a series in the Alluaudite Group. The species Maghagendorfite-Na□ was originally found at the Dyke Lode granite pegmatite in the Keystone District, Pennington Co., South Dakota (Moore and Ito, 1979). Maghagendorfite-NaNa was later found at Rapid Creek, Yukon, Canada (Robinson, et al., 1992}. The X1 site may be vacant, partially occupied, or greater than 50% occupied for change compensation occurring in the M sites.
