Lombaardite

Synonym of:Allanite


A synonym of either allanite-(Ce) or allanite-(Y).

Original "lombaardite" was mixture of fibrous allanite-(Ce) and dark-coloured turmaline (schorl) analysed overlooking some components (B2O3 etc.).
Fibrous allanite-(Ce) was described as lombaardite from tin deposits of Magadan region in Russia.
Fibrous to thin-prismatic "lombaardite" overgrowing thalenite-(Y) from Askagen is allanite-(Y).
