Name:
Named after the Rhine River.
Originally described as tiny grains in wolframite from a Russian locality (Rafalson & Sorokin, 1976). Later discredited because of uncertain origin. Also observed as microscopic grains (no size given) in calcium- and aluminum-rich inclusions in the Allende Meteorite, a carbonaceous chondrite.
