Stellite

Synonym of:Pectolite


A synomyn of pectolite, originally found on the Forth and Clyde Canal, a little to the east of Kilsyth, Glasgow, Scotland. The name is derived from "stella" ("star") because the "congeries of small crystals issuing like rays from several centres" presented a star-like aspect.
