Saami Blood

Name:From a legend mentioned by A.Fersman in his book "Reminiscences about Minerals". The legend tells about a fight between the Saami (the indigenous people of northern Scandinavia and the Kola peninsula) and a Swede named Kuiva. The Saami defeated the Swede, but much blood was shed, the Saami blood spotted the tundra, and all the blood turned to stone - hence the blood-red patches of eudialyte in the local rock.
Synonym of:Eudialyte
