Named after Johannes Willemse (1909-1967), Professor of Geology, University of Pretoria (South Africa). He was an authority on layered mafic intrusions and, in particular, on the Bushveld Igneous Complex.
Ni end-member of the Pyrophyllite-Talc Group.
