Name:Named for chemical composition.
A variety of Fluorite

Yttrofluorite is a variety of fluorite containing an appreciable amount of yttrium (Y) taking the place of calcium (Ca) anions in the Fluorite structure. Nineteenth century identifications of yttrofluorite are generally only purple fluorite without any yttrium. Yttrofluorite is not commonly purple.
