Barkevikite



An obsolete name for a dark amphibole from pegmatites in the Langesundsfjord area.
The composition of barkevikite corresponds to several species within the range ferroedenite-hastingsite-magnesiohastingsite, depending on and varying from locality to locality.
"Barkevikite" from its "type locality", Skutesundskjær near Barkevik, in the eastern part of the Langesundsfjord, is ferroedenite (Larsen 1995, Larsen 1998).
