Aglaite

Name:Named in 1877 by A. A. Julien because cymatolite had been immediately recognized as a variety of pihlite by Dana and Brush (1868). The name aglaite was also immediately recognized as no different than cymatolite as both materials were wavy lamellar aggregates of muscovite and albite replacing spodumene. Originally described from Barrus Farm locality, Goshen, Hampshire Co., Massachusetts, USA.
Synonym of:Cymatolite

A mixture of "wavy" muscovite and albite, found as an alteration product of spodumene.
