Goldschmidtite

Name:
Named by William Herbert Hobbs in 1899 for Victor Moritz Goldschmidt (January 27, 1888 Zürich,Switzerland – March 20, 1947 Oslo, Norway). Goldschmidt was one of the outstanding mineralogists of history. He was the paramount crystallographer and founded the modern age of crystal chemistry and geochemistry.
