Name:Described as a new mineral from Låven, Langesundsfjorden, Norway by Weibye (1849, 1850). Brøgger (1890) re-examined Weibyes original material and found it to be analcime with a strong birefringence. He also showed that the original material consisted partly of analcime and partly of feldspar.
