Introducing Mindat Books

Mindat.org has now launched a new section entitled Mindat Books. 

 Mindat Books allows anyone to download complete mineral-related books completely free of charge. These books are books that are out of copyright (for example, 19th century books), books that are in the public domain (such as USGS books and reports) and books that we have been given permission by the copyright owners to redistribute here.

Each book or article is provided as a PDF format file, that you can browse and read on your PC. You are free to download, keep, copy and print out these - they are free for you to use and enjoy.

As most of these files are very big (tens or hundreds of megabytes) broadband internet access is essential to use Mindat Books.  Also, to prevent overloading of the server, you are only allowed to download a maximum of five books per day.

New books are being added all the time. If you have books and/or articles that are either out of copyright or you are the copyright holder, and you would like to see them distributed through mindat.org, please contact Jolyon .
