Sodalite (Var: Hackmanite)

Sodalite (Var: Hackmanite)

A single roughly terminated crystal of hackmanite (1.2cm across) sits up on a matrix of marble and winchite. There are other smaller crystals and areas of hackmanite within the specimen too. The colour variation is very good: ranging from royal purple in daylight, to fire orange under UV, emitted blue under dim light after UV, and sulphur yellow phosphorescence.
